Soup is almost always a satisfying meal for lunch or dinner. Served with a salad and crackers, it makes a filling and nutritious sit down meal, or a quick on the go meal when put in a thermos. If your kids are interested in cooking, follow some of these easy to make soup recipes with your children.
This is an easy to make soup for kids because it does not require cooking any meat, plus your child can experiment with different vegetables. Most of these vegetables are easy to clean and cut, meaning that almost any age can pitch in to help. If your child will cut the vegetables, remind him that the smaller the vegetables are, the faster they will cook.
Directions: Pour vegetable stock into a large pot and then add the celery, carrots, potatoes, zucchini, cauliflower, and tomatoes. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat. Cover the pot and simmer for about 20 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for ten minutes or until the noodles are tender.
This is easy because it used fresh, pre-cooked tortellini.
Directions: Brown the meat in a large pot. Drain if necessary. Add tomatoes, soup, green beans, tortellini, basil and 3-1/2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce and cover. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add zucchini, and cook uncovered for 10 minutes or until tender.

Directions: Cook meat in a pan and add onion, garlic, and the pepper. Cook until the onion is soft. Drain fat if necessary. Add broth, tomatoes, salt, and seasoning and bring to a boil. Stir in pasta. Cook about 15 minutes or until the pasta is tender. Stir in Parmesan cheese. Pour soup into bowls and top with mozzarella.
