Fourth of July is time to celebrate America's birthday. It also means picnics and get-togethers. Let the kids have a great time preparing some of these fun foods for the big day! These recipes are easy to make and taste, oh-so-good.
Directions: Cover cucumbers with boiling water and let stand 10 minutes. Drain and plunge into cold water. Drain and refrigerate for 30 minutes. When ready to serve, combine remaining ingredients and toss lightly with cucumbers. Serves 6.
Directions: Peel hard boiled eggs and cut them in half length-wise. Scoop out the yolk into a small bowl. Mix yolk, mustard, and mayonnaise until smooth and creamy. Evenly divide mixture and place back in egg holes. Sprinkle with Paprika. Yields 12 deviled eggs.
Directions: Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Grease and flour Bundt pan. In large mixing bowl, crush vanilla wafers. Add baking powder and sugar. Beat the eggs and melt the butter. Mix both in with the dry ingredients. Add the vanilla. Fold in nuts and coconut. Pour into a pan and bake for 1 hour. When the cake is cooled and ready to be served, top with whipped cream, strawberries, and blueberries to look like the American flag.
Directions: Heat 2 cups of sugar and water in a saucepan. Stir until sugar dissolves. This is the time to add food coloring to the mixture. Make multiple batches for different colors. Add 2 more cups of sugar and dissolve until clear. Pour mixture in a drinking glass. Tie a length of string from a pencil so the string hangs in the mixture while the pencil rests onto top of the drinking glass. Crystals will form within a few hours on the string. Make three batches one clear, one red, and one blue.

Directions: Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the bottom of a plastic cup. Add a scoop of cherry sherbet, then another scoop of vanilla ice cream, then a scoop of blue raspberry sherbet, and then another scoop of vanilla ice cream. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles.
